Abstract
Summary: The author describes the Italian law which, since 1989, has regulated the practice of psychotherapy in Italy--and its complex implications for psychoanalysis. Even if the Ossicini Law does not specifically mention psychoanalysis, in fact all Italian analytic schools subjected themselves to its legal requirements, which meant accepting only graduates in medicine or psychology for training.
